Joe Jonas and Sophie Turner are getting married! The announcement was made through Instagram when each of them shared a picture of their hands (with Sophie wearing a beautiful ring” along with the captions “She said yes” and “I said yes.”
Of course, the DNCE frontman’s brothers, Nick Jonas and Kevin Jonas, shared their excitement with 25-year-old Nick even sharing the photo on Twitter along with the message: “Ahh! Congratulations to my brother… and sister in law to be on your engagement. I love you both so much.”
The pair have been dating since, at least, last November but waited till this past January to become Instagram official.
A few months prior to the engagement, a source disclosed that “Joe is taking the relationship very seriously” and that Sophie is “different from the other girls he has dated.”
Meanwhile, Turner told U.K.’s Sunday Times: “I’m in a relationship, but it’s a very private relationship. I very much isolated myself for a while and forgot what was fun. Going out with friends, going out to eat, not really having a care and people I’ve met recently in my life have drawn me out of that. It really helps you own those insecurities. The things I tortured myself about before, I can forget about… I’m happier than I’ve been in a very long time.”
The Game of Thrones actress elaborated further about the benefits of being in a high-profile relationship despite the need to maintain such intense privacy. She told InStyle, “I found it easier to date someone who understands the industry or is in that world. You realize that you’re not going to see each other all the time and you don’t feel like a jerk when you’re like, ‘My publicist says I can’t do this…’”
Interesting! Well, whatever works for them since they understand their crazy world better than any of us ever will.
It’s great timing since Turner is currently filming the final season of GoT and may be able to devote some time to starting a new life with Jonas. Either way, the wedding will probably be great but we can’t help but wonder if they will find a way to serve their wedding “cake by the ocean.”
See what I did there?
